Kickboxing Southport — Total Combat Martial Arts

Kickboxing Classes & Timetable in Southport

Our Southport timetable covers everything from gentle first-timer sessions to high-tempo fitness rounds and proper K1-style technique work. Whatever your goal — losing weight, learning to strike, building confidence or just getting out of your own head for an hour — there is a class that fits. Every session is mixed-ability and welcoming, and you can mix and match across the week as much as you like.

Classes run year-round with full continuity, including right through the school holidays. There are no long seasonal breaks, so your training never stalls.

Our class types

Beginners / Fundamentals

The best place to start. Fundamentals sessions strip kickboxing back to the essentials: stance, guard, footwork, and the core punches and kicks, taught slowly with plenty of repetition. You will work on pads and bags rather than against another person, so there is zero pressure and no chance of getting hit. Coaches keep groups small enough to give individual pointers, and you are never made to feel behind. If you have read our beginners guide and felt that flicker of "maybe I could," this is the class for you. Try this class free.

Cardio / Fitness Kickboxing

A full-throttle workout built around kickboxing movement: rapid pad and bag combinations, conditioning bursts, core work and a proper cool-down. It is designed for calorie burn, toning and cardio fitness rather than competition, and there is no contact — nobody hits you back. This is our most popular entry point for people returning to exercise or chasing weight-loss goals. Full detail is on the cardio kickboxing page. Try this class free.

Technique & Padwork (K1 style)

Where you learn to actually strike. These sessions drill clean technique — jab, cross, hooks, uppercuts, roundhouse and front kicks (the teep), knees and combinations — using focus pads and Thai pads with a partner or coach. K1-style kickboxing blends boxing hands with low and high kicks and knees, so you build a genuinely well-rounded striking game. Expect detail, feedback and steady progress. No belts, no patterns to memorise — just real skill that also happens to be a phenomenal workout. Try this class free.

Sparring (optional, controlled, never compulsory)

For members who want to test their technique against a moving target, controlled light sparring is available under close coach supervision. It is always optional — a huge number of our members never spar and get exactly what they came for. When you do step in, it is light, respectful and matched sensibly. Men and women spar together as a matter of course; in a mixed gym that is entirely normal and helps everyone sharpen up. Try this class free.

Kids Kickboxing

Fun, structured classes that build children's confidence, focus and fitness in a safe environment — and earn them Children's University credits along the way. Sessions are grouped by age and run on games, drills and plenty of encouragement. Full detail and safeguarding information is on the kids kickboxing page. Try this class free.

What to bring & what to wear

For your first session, comfortable sports clothing and a bottle of water are all you need — trainers are fine to start. As you settle in you will want your own hand wraps and boxing gloves, but there is no need to buy anything before you have decided kickboxing is for you. We can point you to the right kit when you are ready. More practical questions are answered on the FAQ page.
